We are seeking a Senior IP Patent Paralegal to work for a leading IP law firm.
For this position you must be CIPA qualified and possess strong IP / Patent administration / paralegal experience. You must also be eager and capable of overseeing a small team of IP administrators and ideally have team leadership experience.
This position is a remote role with the occasional requirement to attend one of the firms England based offices.
The main purpose of the role is to provide a client-focused, cost-effective, and efficient support service to the firms key clients. You will take responsibility for managing and co-ordinating the lifecycle of the patent applications, including receiving incoming instructions, setting up cases, acknowledging emails and billing, adapting to the client’s specific requirements. As a Senior Paralegal, you will also be providing line manager support to members of the IP Support team and operating with a high level of autonomy.
Duties will include: Managing the three IP Administrators within the team, co-ordinating their work, providing support and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard. Conducting appraisal and performance reviews of team members. Developing and coaching team members, ensuring training is up to date. Being key in the recruitment of new team members, supporting the onboarding process and ensuring the new starter is trained appropriately. Overseeing and being responsible for deadlines. Reviewing processes and procedures to make improvements, driving change where needed to ensure the best service is provided. Interacting with the clients and providing a professional, high-quality service, including preparing & attending client meetings when necessary. Processing incoming emails. Overseeing invoicing for key clients. Organising and prioritising own workload. Proof reading work thoroughly to maintain high attention to detail. Ensuring chargeable time is logged correctly
